Rebecca is slightly obsessed with Charleston & the artists who came before her. Alfred Hutty was a 20th-century American artist who is considered one of the leading figures of the Charleston Renaissance. He had served in WWI as an artist working on camouflage of ships. Afterward in 1919, he visited Charleston. He went on to become very active in Charleston & Rebecca still loves this quote.
